Colorado Renews State E-Bike Rebate Program

The Colorado Energy Office is renewing its statewide e-bike rebate program, providing rebates to income-qualified Colorado residents to reduce the upfront cost of purchasing a new e-bike. By making e-bikes more affordable, the program supports transportation choices that can benefit both household budgets and Colorado’s air quality.

E-bikes offer a clean transportation option that can reduce vehicle trips, traffic-related air pollution and emissions while providing a safe, convenient and affordable way to get around.

The first round of Colorado’s e-bike rebate program generated more than 34,000 applications. In the Colorado Energy Office’s 2025 report on the e-bike rebate program, 89% of recipients said they would not have purchased an e-bike without the financial assistance. Rebate recipients also replaced an average of 2.85 car trips per week with e-bike trips, resulting in estimated emissions reductions equivalent to taking a gas-powered car off the road for 8.85 million miles each year.

The program’s standard rebate amount is $1,000, with extra savings available for e-cargo and adaptive e-bike purchases. The initial application process includes providing basic information, like name and address. After the application period closes, the Colorado Energy Office will contact randomly selected winners via email. Once registration opens, a link to the registration portal will be available on the E-Bike Rebate webpage. The Colorado Energy Office is hosting three open windows to apply:
